Five people taken to hospital following a car crash in Wakefield earlier today

Three people were cut out of a two car crash in West Yorkshire this morning.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say that two cars were involved and when they arrived at the scene in Wakefield two people were stuck in one and another person was trapped in the second vehicle.

They were cut out and taken to hospital along with two more casualties who had managed to climb free before emergency services arrived.

The crash was at the Newmarket Lane Junction with Aberford Road at Stanley around 10.15am.
