Firefighters cut motorist free from four-vehicle pile-up near Wakefield


A person has injured following a four-vehicle pile-up in Middlestown this afternoon.

The accident happened on the A642, New Road, shortly before 4.30pm.

Firefighters from Dewsbury helped cut the trapped person free and they were taken to hospital by ambulance. There are currently no reports on their condition.

The road is not closed but traffic is backed up along New Road towards Horbury and along Bridge Road and Netherton Lane.
