Firefighters battle barn blaze near Pontefract

FIREFIGHTERS from stations across West Yorkshire dealt with a large barn fire at Kinsley near Pontefract in the early hours this morning.

Fire crews were alerted to the blaze at Kinsley Carr Farm off Carr Lane just before 4am

West Yorkshire Fire Service said the 60m x 20m barn was 100 per cent involved in fire.

Six fire engines from West Yorkshire fire stations including South Kirkby, Featherstone and Normanton, were called to the incident along with two fire engines from South Yorkshire.

The blaze has been extinguished but four fire engines are still at the scene this morning as damping down continues.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
