A body found in a lake on the outskirts of Leeds is thought to be that of a man who went missing after his work Christmas party.
Kalist Musinga disappeared in the early hours of Friday, December 19, after attending a get-together at a bar near the Royal Armouries in Leeds city centre.
The 50-year-old father of one, of Burmantofts, Leeds, had been celebrating with colleagues from Leeds-based BPP Law School.
Despite underwater searches of the River Aire, he has not been seen since.
But a police spokesman said a passerby found a man’s body in a lake off the river near Leeds Road in Allerton Bywater – about 10 miles away.
Mr Musinga’s family have been informed.
The spokesman said: “At 4.50pm yesterday police received a report of a body being found in a lake in Leeds Road, Allerton Bywater.
“Officers attended and the body was recovered with the assistance of police divers.
“The body is yet to be formally identified. The family of missing Leeds man Kalist Musinga, who went missing near to River Aire in Leeds city centre on December 19, have been informed.”
