Family in hospital suffering smoke inhalation

A man, woman and two small children were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation following a chip pan fire in their home.

The incident happened on Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield, at about 10pm yesterday.

Fire crews from Huddersfield attended the incident but found the fire out on arrival. A spokesman said smoke detectors in the house alerted the family to the fire, adding they used a large fan to clear the building of smoke and the man, woman, a boy and a girl were taken to hospital to be checked over.
