Former Leeds MP Ed Balls has hit a new Strictly low with a total score of just 16.

Balls and his partner Katya Jones performed a clumsy paso doble to Holding Out For A Hero, stumbling over a number of missed steps.

Judge Len Goodman told him: “I don’t know about holding out for a hero, I was holding out for a paso.”

Revel Horwood, who scored him just two points, complained: “The shaping was terrible, it was stompy, there wasn’t a hint of any matador in there, darling. It was dreadful.”

Bussell added: “It was a shame that you made that balls up.”

Balls, who was dressed as a knight for the performance, admitted: “A few things went wrong.”

He has been bottom of the leader board each week so far, but Saturday’s was his lowest score to date and the lowest in the competition so far.
