European beer en route to Leeds

North Bar will be hosting this event to prove European ties to the city are still flourishing despite the countdown to Brexit being less than a year away.

The first event is on Thursday with a tap takeover from De La Senne, a small brewery in Brussels.

John Gyngell, founder and director of North Bar will be in attendance from 5-7pm to chat to customers along with Operations Manager Rich Fiddaman and Bar Manager Cal Lister.

“We started discovering and drinking these beers whilst trying to find a beer for each country playing in Euro 98. We soon became obsessed with them and started visiting Ghent and Brussels in Belgium just to find and try more,”said Mr Gyngell.

Recently the North Tap founder visited De Molen brewery in Bodegraven, Netherlands, to discover more.

He added: “We love celebrating the festival every year and inspiring more people to drink these incredible and fascinating beers.”

De Molen brewery will be at the festival from April 26-29. A further Six Degrees event on April 15 will offer Red Snappers with Belgian gin, and Dutch cheese toasties.

“Organising the festival each year doesn’t get old. We work with incredible suppliers, such as Cave Direct and Bacchanalia, who allow us to buy the best and most limited beers, This is set to be our biggest festival ever and we hope everyone who visits can find the right beer for them,” said Mr Fiddaman.
