Video: Dramatic footage shows flooded cave spit out gallons of water after heavy rainfall

This dramatic footage captures the moment a world-famous cave in the idyllic Yorkshire Dales countryside was filled with so much rain water - it began to spill out on to a nearby ROAD.

Gallons of water can be seen sloshing around the entrance to White Scar Caves in North Yorkshire like a running river - before plummeting down the steps to the road below.Passing cars are also captured driving into huge puddles of the cave water which had accumulated at the foot of the car park.Despite the influx of water plighting the popular tourist attraction - the cave operators say the cave will be re-opened to the public tomorrow (Tues).White Scar Caves posted on their: “Due to high volume of rain the cave will close at least until 3pm. Telephone enquiries between 2pm and 2.30pm only please.” A spokesperson for White Scar Caves later said: “Because there is so much water coming out of the cave today (Mon) we ask that people wanting to visit the cave that they come tomorrow.
