A fitness entrepreneur hopes to win a chance to pitch to Sir Richard Branson.

Claire McGarry, who developed BurleX, a training regime based on burlesque dancing, has entered Virgin Media Business VOOM 2016, a competition backed by the tycoon.

Claire, from Kippax who founded BurleX Fitness in 2013, said: “We know we’ve got the roots of a fantastic business. Now we just need it to grow, to VOOM.”

The contest offers winners a chance to share £1m-worth of prizes and to pitch to Sir Richard.

People have until May 23 to vote businesses through to the ‘pitchathon’ in London at www.vmbvoom.com.
