Elderly man is flown to hospital in Leeds after suffering serious head injury in road collision

An elderly pedestrian was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary today after being hit by a van.

The 81-year-old man suffered a serious head injury when he was struck by the Ford Transit as he crossed Main Street in Menston shortly after 10am.

West Yorkshire Police said the injury was not thought to be life threatening.

The force is appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened near Main Street’s junction with Cleasby Road.
