Eid fight breaks out at Leeds Bangladeshi Centre

POLICE were called to fight at a Leeds Bangladeshi Centre’s Eid celebrations this morning.

Local residents reported seeing a number of police cars outside the Bangladeshi Centre, on Roundhay Road in Harehills.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Shortly after 8am today, police were alerted to a fight at the Bangladeshi Centre, in Roundhay Road.

“Officers were already in attendance at the centre after earlier receiving information about an ongoing dispute. Tensions were calmed and officers are maintaining a presence in the area to support and reassure to the community as they continue enjoying Eid celebrations.”

Officers said there were no reports of any injuries and no arrests have been made.
