The visit to Wykebeck Primary took place as construction firm Walter Thompson continues work on a new £7.5m Bupa care home at the corner of Harehills Lane and York Road.

Walter Thompson contracts manager Jason Henderson said: “A building site can appear like a playground to children and as a responsible contractor, it is vital that we make children aware of the dangers of playing on a building site, particularly when the school is located nearby.”

Jason added: “As a family-run, long-established construction company we pride ourselves on the relationships we establish with people or organisations neighbouring our sites, which was why we wanted to visit the school.”
