A PUBLIC meeting has been organised to discuss a possible location for a proposed new skatepark in Kippax.

The meeting will be held at Kippax Central Working Men’s Club on Gibson Lane on Monday, October 12, starting at 7pm.

It has been arranged by Kippax Parish Council, which says the need for a skatepark in the area was highlighted by the popularity of a temporary facility that was in place during the summer.

Joe Montague, chairman of the Kippax Youth Advisory Committee, said: “It is an exciting time for this development as the process has been gathering momentum for a while now. We are really keen to gather as much support as possible and for that reason we are hoping for a strong attendance at the meeting on the 12th.”

The parish council says it expects the proposed skatepark to be used by scooter and BMX riders as well as skateboarders and inline skaters.

It also points out that Kippax is one of the only villages in east Leeds without what it describes as a “wheeled facility”.
