An ambitious scheme to improve the centre of Harehills along Harehills Lane is taking shape.

A £200,000 grant has been made available from Leeds City Council’s Town and District Centre Regeneration Fund to pay for a series of improvements .

Work to the council car park by Bellbrook Street is finished and includes new signage and plants.

A new pedestrian crossing, changes to parking arrangements and bus stops, and traffic calming are currently underway on Harehills Lane between Chatsworth Road and Coldcotes Avenue. A ‘Welcome’ sign will be installed with designs from local primary schools.
