East Leeds: New discount store opening creates jobs

Discount retail giant Poundland is preparing to open a new store in Crossgates this week.


The store, which will created 16 jobs, will be officially opened by Lord Mayor of Leeds Judith Chapman on September 3.

The first lucky 100 customers who step through the door at the store in Crossgates Shopping Centre, will receive a £5 voucher to spend in the shop.

There will also be entertainment throughout the opening day including a DJ.

Poundland retail director Tim McDonnel said: “We are delighted to bring our unique proposition to Crossgates and create 16 jobs for the community.

“Poundland offers amazing value on top branded products to over 5.5 million customers every week for just £1 and we look forward to opening our doors!”
