staff at Matalan in Halton have drummed up a tidy sum for the NSPCC by rattling buckets at the Selby Road store.

Workers have received congratulations and a certificate after raising £1,571.69 for the NSPCC and ChildLine.

Fundraising events have included go green for Hallowe’en and bucket collections at Bank Holiday weekends when the outside of the store is decorated with NSPCC bunting.

They have also helped to raise awareness for the charity which has close ties to the city. The NSPCC has a service centre and a helpline centre in Leeds.
