Kippax has done it yet again after flourishing in the ‘Urban Communities’ category this year at the Britain in Bloom awards.

Displays were exhibited across the whole village but the showcase which gained the most recognition were the old public toilet blocks in Crosshills which were transformed into a picturesque cottage.

Doug Morley, chairman of Kippax Parish Council, said: “Kippax in Bloom enjoys the full support of the Parish Council and the wider community.

“We all work together year on year to improve our village.”

Local resident Pat Samy added: “The dedicated group of volunteers go out in all weathers to ensure that Kippax is always in pristine condition and we have fun doing this.”

More than 1,600 cities, towns and villages participate in the nationwide gardening campaign which celebrates it’s 50th Britain in Bloom UK Final this year, held at the Bristol Marriott City Centre.
