Garforth & District Lions Club presented a £500 cheque to a blood bike charity for their valuable work.

The Whiteknights get up at all hours of the day to locally transport blood supplies and pharmaceutical items to the NHS and hospices throughout Yorkshire. It costs £20,000 per year to run the free of charge service and 100 per cent of that comes from donations.

Councillor for Garforth, Mark Dobson said “The Whiteknights do great work in the county, we know our donation will be put to very good use.” The money will go towards maintenance and petrol to fuel the fleet of four BMW motorcycles.
