two young entrepreneurs will show off their own range of cosmetic products for the first time tonight after 18 months in the making.
Jack Thompson, 20, and Millie Watson, 21, are throwing a party at the Neighbourhood Bar on Greek Street to unveil the make up in the MEMI collection that they have been working on since finishing a business course at Leeds City College.
It was Millie’s passion for make up that inspired the collection and which prides itself on being ‘Everyday Glamour’ with luxury products and packaging at affordable prices.
The duo have been working behind the scenes to research cosmetics, what they wanted in the collection, ingredients for the make-up and pricing and marketing.
Jack, of Ilkley, said: “Everything that we have done has been building up to this point.
“We have been telling people we have been starting a business but I don’t think they realise the extent we have gone to.
“It will be nice to showcase the product, get feedback and hopefully people will like it.” Millie, who lives in Guiseley, added: “What I found when I was going to Leeds looking for make-up was that to get a high quality product and packaging it would be £35 for one product so I wanted to bring the two together and offer that to the younger generation so that they could afford their own.”
The range includes matte and satin lipstick, lip gloss, blusher, bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow palettes, primer and moisturiser, mascara, liquid eyeliner and brushes.
Products will be available online when the MEMI website goes live later this month and taking the business forward, the duo are currently in talks with local salons about stocking the range.
