Several cars were damaged during a police chase in east Leeds this morning.

The black Seat Leon failed to stop for officers on Shannon Street in the city centre just after 9am

The car was then pursued onto the A64 York Road, where it collided with several other vehicles.

It eventually crashed into some traffic lights on Gipton Approach Road, causing damage to the signals and leading to long delays.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Nobody was injured.
