Drip feed a consuming city lifestyle with a new well-being trend that has come to Leeds

The party scene in Leeds is thriving but how long can you hack it for?

The bars, the restaurants, places to go, people to see, shops to splash the cash, a new opening, the latest coolest cocktail haunt - makes Leeds top of the list for city living.

It also makes for hangovers, stress, never having enough time to fit everything in and being more prone to illness as we try to keep up.

A fortnight relaxing in the sun would cure all that but seeing as it is still very much February, and jetting off instead of reaching for another black coffee is not always possible, people are trying out a new trend taking off in Leeds.

Melissa Burnley has been practising as a qualified pharmacist and phlebotomist in Leeds for 14 years but has started visiting people at home and in the work place to give them a shot of sunshine.

She has trained in the delivery of Intravenous Nutritional Therapy (IVNT), which helps to revitalise clients by feeding vitamins into the blood-stream via a drip.

The boost of vitamins is proving popular with city workers and residents.

She said: “It is popular in America, Manchester and London and is starting to gather interest in Leeds.

“But I needed to believe it before I promoted it. I had done the Three Peaks walk the day before and was tired and lacking in energy, tried this and slept better all that week.

“I then tried it on a few people including a guy who travelled around the world for work, and partied hard, but never felt on top of his game - within half an hour he said he felt amazing.”

She prepares the bag with the vitamins, minerals and amino-acids the client needs and it takes 20 minutes to half an hour to work its way into the body with the benefits lasting for a fortnight.

Melissa added: “It is for people that are health conscious but people are pushing themselves and wanting to be the best they can and burning themselves out.”
