Unwanted salespeople and bogus officials have been shown the door by residents in Calverley and Thornbury.

The cold calling zones were launched in the two areas earlier this month after councillors Andrew Carter, Amanda Carter and Rod Wood worked to get them introduced.

Officers from West Yorkshire Trading Standards and West Yorkshire Police were on hand to talk to residents as well as distribute stickers and leaflets.

The zones, which are implemented in areas where doorstep crime or rogue trader activity has been reported, have been funded by Leeds City Council.
