Residents, businesses and organisations across Leeds are being urged to donate Just One Day to support the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal.
The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun David Congreve, is calling on people across the city to give their time for just one day on Friday, April 24, to raise money for his chosen charity, the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal.
People are being urged to bake, take part in a sponsored event or don fancy dress as part of the Just One Day initiative in partnership with the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Money raised will be used to help buy new equipment to brighten the wards and family rooms at the hospital.
Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun David Congreve, said: “The people of Leeds, along with local businesses, educational establishments, groups and organisations do such an amazing job supporting a wide-range of charities in our city.
“We know it is not always possible to give to every single charity all the time, and with this in mind, it would be fantastic if people might be able to spare ‘Just One Day’ to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Charity.”
Sharon Evans, fundraising development manager at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation said:“We are thrilled that the people of Leeds are getting involved in ‘Just One Day’, every penny raised will make a big difference to the experience our young patients have during their stay.”
