Horse and donkey sanctuary Hope Pastures has had to postpone its fun dog show on Sunday, July 15 because of a hot temperatures.

A fun dog show planned for tomorrow has had to been postponed because of forecasted hot weather.

Horse and donkey sanctuary Hope Pastures, on Weetwood Lane, has decided to rescheduled the event in September after hearing the temperature could reach 28 degrees this weekend.

A spokeswoman said: “We are sorry to postpone the fun dog show this Sunday, it has been a very difficult decision, the forecast until yesterday was 21 degrees, unfortunately that has now changed to expected temperatures in excess of 28 degrees.

“We hope you will understand the dogs’ health and welfare are priority, this is too hot to expect dogs to travel and compete in our classes.

“We are a sanctuary and it is not appropriate for us to put dogs’ lives at risk for our fun dog show.”

The show will be re-scheduled for Sunday 23rd of September at 10.30

The spokeswoman added: “We appreciate your most generous support and are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
