A cyclist suffered serious injuries after coming off their bike in Leeds.

Police are appealing today for witnesses following an "incident" on Gledhow Wood Road at 7:45am on Friday, November 10.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "It resulted in the rider coming from their bike, suffering serious injuries. They continue to be treated at the Leeds General Infirmary.

"A number of people are believed to have stopped at the time to assist and we would like to speak to them or anyone else who witnessed the incident at the junction with Roundhay Road."

Police did not release details of the cyclist's gender or age in their appeal.

Anyone with information is asked to call police constable Bastow of the Safer Roads Team via the non-emergency number 101, on extension 39057, referencing collision reference number 13170534483.
