DJ to play Leeds after I'm A Celebrity tweets row

The 23-year-old, also famous for his work as a vlogger and being one half of music group GOAT alongside brother Conor Maynard, is set to take the decks at Pryzm nightclub for a live DJ set.

He sensationally left the ITV show just three days into its run last November over a series of social media allegations.

Maynard faced allegations of racism and homophobia after old tweets emerged online, which were mainly posted in 2012 and were subsequently removed.

Then it came to light he had asked a 14-year-old fan to send him nude pictures in messages reportedly sent from his Facebook account back in December 2011, when he was 17, although he wasn’t aware of her age at the time.

Maynard has since apologised via a YouTube video where he said: “I was young, I was stupid, I was careless I just wasn’t thinking.”

Making one of his first appearances since the controversy, the Brighton lad told City Buzz he was ready to show Leeds a good time.

He said: “I’ve only ever had one night in Leeds, and to this day it’s probably one of my favourite cities.

“I’m so excited to be asked to do a set at Pryzm’s SuperBull – I’m going to make sure everyone has an amazing time.”

The Superbull night at Pryzm is the club’s version of a January sale where entry before 11.30pm is half price and there are deals on drinks such as Jagerbombs, buckets and vodka Redbull.

In just over a year on YouTube, Maynard has gained 1.2million subscribers, more than 99.9million views to date and 714,000 followers on Instagram.
