The Welcome People arrived on Briggate yesterday (Feb 29) and will offer a helping hand for tourists, shoppers, visitors and commuters.

The city ambassadors will fly the flag for Leeds, providing a ‘meet and greet’ service and offering tourist information to those who need it, as well as carrying out intelligence gathering and helping to promote local businesses.

The extra pairs of eyes on the city’s streets will also help monitor incidents of anti-social behaviour and the team is encouraged to report incidents to the police and local authorities where ever necessary.
