Decade of Leeds film scheme marked
Current and former cancer patients were at the event for JTV Cancer Support, which was founded by Mark Wilkinson and the staff of the Teenage Cancer Trust ward at St James’s Hospital after the filmmaker saw the benefits of creating video diaries with a young woman with a terminal diagnosis. Since then more than 2,000 have been made and they have had 1.1m views on the scheme’s website.
Teenage Cancer Trust CEO Siobhan Dunn said: “JTV Cancer Support has given young people with cancer an avenue through which to express and share their feelings, worries and frustrations in an entirely creative way.”
