Dead man named in Leeds house murder investigation

THE IDENTITY of a man whose death was the subject of a murder investigation after his body was found at a house in Leeds has today been revealed.

Leeds Crown Court heard the man found dead at a house on Bexley Mount, Harehills, Leeds, was 40-year-old Stawomir Burdalski.

Bartlomiej Dedek, 34, appeared before the court where he is charged with murdering Mr Burdalski in the early hours of Sunday, February 12.

Officers were called to the property at 1.37am after being contacted by the ambulance service.

Dedek, of Bexley Mount, appeared in court on screen via a videolink from Armley Prison.

He pleaded not guilty to murder and will go on trial on August 14 this year

No application for bail was made and Dedek was returned to custody after the hearing.

At an earlier court appearance, police had not established the identity of the dead man.

Three other men, aged 46, 50 and 51, and 40-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of murder after the incident but have been released without charge.
