Days Out: Off roading at Coniston Cold, North Yorkshire

That’s right, Santa Claus is coming to town and in the build-up to Christmas he’ll be watching his elves work from afar in his woodland home on the Coniston Estate, near Skipton.

He won’t be relaxing though, far from it. He’s here to make sure that children in Yorkshire get the chance to tell him personally, exactly what they want in their stockings this year.

Always a hit with kids and parents alike, Coniston’s 4x4 Santa Trail involves a journey through the estate’s enchanted woodland in a four-wheel-drive, Kubota RTV – an open-sided, four-seater buggy.

The trail takes approximately half an hour and will ensure that every child leaves with a special gift from Santa and that every parent has had a hot beverage and a mince pie.

Once December finishes though, there’s still plenty to do over at the Coniston Estate.

Coniston 4x4 offer experiences in Land Rover Defenders and pick-up trucks; with different packages available depending on how strong your sense of adventure is.

The experiences take place across three zones, and along more than five miles of tracks. Steep hills, deep water and tricky terrain are just a handful of the obstacles you’ll be navigating.

Don’t worry though, there’s always a qualified instructor alongside you, so you’ll be in safe hands.
