Main story: Police have installed specialist security equipment at the home of former Elland Road director Melvin Levi after he claimed he was “living in fear”. Mr Levi complained to West Yorkshire Police after his home address was published by Leeds United chairman Ken Bates in last Saturday’s match programme. In the article Mr Bates stated that the accountant, son of legendary Leeds solicitor Jack Levi, had effectively blocked the transfer of the remaining 50 per cent shareholding of the club to Mr Bates’ consortium by claiming its option had not been validly exercised. But Mr Bates stressed the consortium had “complied with all the requirements” and suggested fans might like to question Mr Levi over his behaviour and its impact on the club’s progress.
