WorK oN a leisure extension at the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds will begin next year, according to property developer Land Securities Group.

The scheme will be anchored by an 11-screen Cineworld Cinema which includes Imax technology and six new restaurants.

In a statement Land Securities said: “At White Rose, Leeds, we have detailed planning permission for a 65,000 sq ft leisure extension.

“We aim to start on site early next year with completion due in 2017.” The YEP revealed the expansion scheme, which also include extensions to the existing Primark and Debenhams stores, is expected to create around 1,000 new jobs and around 195 construction positions.
