Formula One stars have come to the aid of a Yorkshire racing fan who is living with secondary breast cancer.
Abigail Marshall, 44, has appealed directly to stars of the sport, including Williams boss Claire Williams and Red Bull Racing’s Christian Horner, who responded by donating items to an auction.
Profits will go to The Haven breast cancer support centre, in Leeds, which has helped Abigail through her illness. The Todmorden resident first found a lump in her breast in April 2012.
Items for sale include a Nico Hulkenberg race top and a signed cap from Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo, who she even got to meet.
Abigail, who is also planning a trip to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later this month, said: “I hope to raise as much money as possible for The Haven because they have helped me a lot.”
