The specially-made “beercart” was pulled from Ossett Cricket and Athletic Club on Saturday morning, up to Leeds Road End, and back down to Ossett Town Hall, to mark the start of Ossett Beercart Festival.

Wakefield Morris Dancers were joined by 13 other teams at the event, which offered festival-goers a choice of 40 real ales and ciders. Last year over £2,500 was raised for Wakefield Hospice.

Chair of the Ossett Beercart Sarah Haigh said: “The impact the procession and dancing has on the streets of Ossett is phenomenal - it’s a real party atmosphere.”
