CitiPark isencouraging customers at its Merrion Centre car park to work off their Christmas excesses this year, with a fun new health initiative.

Using the hashtag #CitiFit, posters positioned by the stairs on each floor now reveal quirky quotes such as: “Stair climbing is officially classed as a ‘vigorous exercise’ and burns more calories per minute than jogging!” and “Professional skiers often climb stairs to keep competition-fit. Many models do the same to keep their legs toned for the catwalk!”

Members of CitiPark’s staff have also joined in with the initiative and have themselves pledged to jog up the car park’s 8 flights of stairs in a bid to start the year with a healthier outlook.

Ben Ziff, MD of CitiPark, said: “We know that people look to get back into a healthier regime once Christmas and new year celebrations are over and

what better way to help our customers do this than by encouraging them to enjoy their shopping and then walk up the stairs at our flagship Merrion Centre car park instead of taking the lift!”
