'˜Criminals' needed for Leeds fundraiser
The fundraising fun day, on October 13, will see local business people being locked up for ‘crimes’ in the old Victorian cells at Leeds Town Hall.
Special constables from West Yorkshire Police will ‘arrest’ the villains at work, using police vans to escort them to old court room at the town hall where they will be ‘tried’ - and found guilty.

Laura Ferris, corporate fundraiser at St Gemma’s, said: “Jail and Bail is a really fun, entertaining event for the whole workplace to get involved in and we’d like to hear from anyone willing to ‘hand themselves in’ or nominate a colleague to be locked up, all for a good cause! In the past, we’ve jailed chief executives, entrepreneurs, nurses, professors and lawyers for various light-hearted crimes, raising thousands of pounds towards our vital patient care.”
One of those set to be locked up will be St Gemma’s community nurser specialist Kathy Goldsbrough, who has been nominated to take part by her colleagues for the crime of stealing pens from neighbouring desks.
Spaces are still available for this year’s event so any Leeds-based business people who want to take part can contact Laura on 0113 218 5537 or [email protected].
