Worker rushed to hospital after incident at Cross Green building site

A man working on a building site on the outskirts of Leeds city centre was taken to hospital after an accident involving patio doors.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent two rapid response vehicles and one ambulance crew to Cross Green Lane at 9.22am on Wednesday.

A large area of land is being developed for new homes close to St Hilda's Church.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: At 9.25am today (22/1) police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending a building site in Cross Green Lane, Leeds, where a worker had been injured in an incident while unloading patio doors.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life threatening."

There were no suspicious circumstances, the spokesman said.

"The construction firm involved will investigate the circumstances and make any necessary referrals in line with health and safety procedures," he added.

Construction company Landstock have been contacted for comment.
