A WOMAN has been left shaken after she was pulled into a car and robbed by a group of men.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 37-year-old woman was forced inside a car by three men on Bradford Road at around 3.25am on Sunday, May 25.

She had been walking home from a night out and was near the IMO car wash when a dark coloured car pulled up alongside her.

She was forced into the car, which drove along Carlinghow Lane onto Batley Field Hill, before she was let out.

The men took her handbag, which contained money, bank cards and a Samsung Galaxy phone. She was unharmed but very shaken in the incident.

The car is described as being a dark colour, possibly maroon, and the three suspects are described as Asian men.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Gittins of Kirklees Police said: “This is clearly a serious and very unusual incident. While the victim was unhurt she was distressed by what took place.

“I would wish to reiterate that the nature of this offence is extremely unusual for Batley and extremely rare full stop.”
