A TEENAGER was assaulted and robbed as she crossed the dance floor of a Leeds nightclub.

The 19-year-old was at the Mezz Bar in Assembly Street in Leeds city centre last Saturday when she was attacked around 2am.

As she walked across the dance floor with her mobile phone in her hand and handbag across her shoulder, her hair was suddenly grabbed and she was pulled backwards, according to police.

The woman, from the Meanwood area of Leeds, was then punched in the face and felled to the floor suffering minor injuries.

When she got to her feet she discovered her phone had been stolen and £10 had been taken from her bag.

City and Holbeck CID are appealing for witnesses to contact Det Con Phil Maher via 0845 6060606.
