Woman and son verbally abused by group of three men while sat in car

It happened at about 4.30pm on Crossley Street in Wetherby on Thursday, January 16.

The mum and her son were sat in her stationary car when three men approached the vehicle.

They used insulting and abusive language towards the pair.

The suspects then hit the vehicle with a tool.

West Yorkshire Police Leeds North East officers took to social media to appeal for information.

Officers said: "We are appealing for witnesses to an incident that took place on Crossley Street, Wetherby on Thursday, January 16 at 4.30pm.

"Whilst the victim was stationary on a public road suspects have approached victims vehicleand used insultive and abusive language before hitting the vehicle with a weapon/tool.

"At the time the victim also had her son in the vehicle.

"Victim has then fled the scene."

Officers said that the suspects were described as "one white male, one black male and the other unknown. Black male wearing a distinctive padded coat with visor attached to hood. The white male stocky build with mousey hair and a fringe."
