West Yorkshire Police makes 74 drink and drug driving arrests in December alone

The arrests have been made over the course of just eight days.

West Yorkshire Police is telling people that whilst they counter the threat of drug or drink drivers, there are wider responsibilities and to #DitchYourCarKeys if you are under the influence.

A tweet from West Yorkshire Police account said: "In the 8 days of December, 74 (seventy four) arrests for drink and drug driving offences. Seventy. Four.

"@WestYorksPolice doing a commendable job in countering the threat, but there are wider responsibilities here. #DitchYourCarKeys #WYPTheCost."
