West Yorkshire Police issues warning as fake £20 notes circulate in Guiseley

Officers said that there have been several reports of the fraudulent notes being used in the area over the past week.

They warned businesses and those who regularly handle cash to "remain vigilant and double check".

Police also said that checks should be carried out "especially" on the older style paper notes.

A Facebook post from the Leeds North West officers said: "There have been several reports of counterfeit £20 notes being used in Guiseley over the past week.

"To Businesses and people regularly handling cash - please remain vigilant and double check, especially the older style paper notes!!"
