Wakefield car crash leaves woman, 26, in hospital with serious injuries


A 26-year-old woman has been seriously injured after a driver lost control of a car in Wakefield.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which involved a blue Vauxhall Astra on Black Road, Heath Common, near to the bottom of Pineapple Hill, on Tuesday at around 6.30pm.

The car was travelling towards Normanton when the driver lost control and the vehicle hit a street lamp. The injured woman was taken to hospital.

Police Constable Wayne Mason, from the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team, said: “I would like to appeal to members of the public for information following this serious road collision on Tuesday evening. 

“If anyone witnessed the collision or if you saw the vehicle in the area prior to the collision, please get in contact with the police to help with our investigation.”

Witnesses can call 101 quoting log 1404 of September 6.
