VIDEO: Dramatic footage shows Leeds 4x4 bank window ram-raid robbery

A dramatic video of a 4x4 reversing into the window of a bank branch in Leeds has surfaced online.

Staff at a Leeds bank fled in terror when robbers reversed a 4x4 into the window of the branch.

The footage shows the window being broken before the men speed off in the car.

The employees were re-stocking the cash machines at the Yorkshire Bank on Harehills Lane when the incident happened just after 9am, before the branch opened to the public.

The dark-coloured Volvo 4x4, containing three men, reversed into the side window before two of the raiders entered the bank wearing masks.

They stole boxes containing cash while staff ran to another part of the building. Nobody was hurt.

The vehicle was found a short time later in Brander Road, Gipton, and had been set alight.

Detective Inspector Charlotte Hails, of Leeds District CID, said: Yorkshire Bank, Harehills Lane "Officers are at the scene and an investigation into the incident is underway.

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and saw the suspects and the vehicle involved. We believe people may have filmed the incident on their phones and we would like anyone with footage to contact us.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the men abandoning the black 4x4 vehicle and setting it on fire in Brander Road, Gipton, and leaving that scene."
