Urgent appeal launched after machete wielding men stab 31-year-old Leeds man in buttocks in 'violent attack'

Police have launched an urgent appeal after a man was stabbed in Leeds.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was violently attacked by two men armed with machetes as he was getting out of his car in Aberfield Gardens, Belle Isle, at about 6.30pm on Wednesday (January 15).

He was stabbed in the lower back and buttocks, police said.

The victim was treated in hospital and later released.

Detective Constable Richard Hodson, of Leeds District CID, said: “This was a very violent attack that could easily have had more serious consequences for the victim.

“We are still working to establish a motive but we believe this has been a targeted attack.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist in identifying those responsible.”
