Two women arrested after man attacked in Leeds street

A MAN suffered two large cuts to his face after an attack in Chapeltown.

The 38-year-old man was assaulted during an altercation with two women at the junction of Chapeltown Road and Grange Terrace.

The man received stitches for his injuries after the incident, which took place between 3.45pm and 4.15pm on Tuesday, May 6.

Two women, aged 25 and 26, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Andrew Jardine, of Leeds District Safeguarding Unit, said: “The victim was left with serious injuries to his face as a result of this incident and we are trying to establish exactly how those injuries were caused and by whom.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
