Two men 'flee scene' of overturned car crash on M1 as two women taken to hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car overturned in a crash on the M1 last night - with two women hospitalised.

Officers were called to the southbound carriage in Leeds at junction 46 at around 11pm last night where a silver Vauxhall Corsa had left the carriageway and overturned.

Four people were believed to be in the vehicle but when officers arrived only two female passengers were in the car, police said.

The two women were taken to hospital with serious but not believed to be life threatening injuries.

Two men including the driver are understood to have left the scene - police are appealing for them to come forward.

The road is currently still closed.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage of it.
