Two people were arrested after a report of a man with a gun in Leeds.

Police were called at 10.20pm on Friday when a man was seen with a handgun in a parked car in Seacroft Avenue, Seacroft.

The car was driven off during the call, but officers traced it to Back Newton Grove in Chapeltown.

Two men, aged 21 and 47, were arrested by firearms officers on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

The area was cordoned off while the car was forensically recovered and searches were carried out in the area.

Both men were later released on police bail pending further enquiries and the investigation into the incident is continuing.
