The men will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on October 2 over the offences, which relate to the former Thorp Arch Grange Children’s Home in Wetherby in the 1970s and 80s.

Anthony Gordon Poles, 77, from Boston Spa, is charged with four counts of indecent assault and one count of buggery.

Mark Walker Wyllie, 59, from Linlithgow, West Lothian, is charged with one count of indecent assault.

Roy Leonard Allen, 71, from Burnley, is charged with 14 counts of indecent assault, one count of attempted buggery and two counts of buggery.

They were arrested as part of Operation Polymer, which is an ongoing investigation into physical and sexual abuse at children’s homes in Leeds in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
