Teenagers camping in park in Micklefield robbed of their bikes by machete-wielding masked men who forced their way into their tents

Masked men carrying a machete forced their way into the tents of a group of teenagers camping in a park and stole their bikes.

The four teenagers, aged around 16, were camping in a park in Micklefield, in between Great North Road and Pit Lane, when they were woken by the three robbers in the early hours of Sunday morning.

One of the men was armed with a machete and demanded the victims’ mobile phones and bicycles.

None of the victims were injured but were left shocked by their ordeal.

Police have released images of two of the bikes which were stolen, both custom built.

The man with the machete is described as 5ft 9ins tall, white and possibly with blonde hair.

He was of slim build and wearing black clothing, including a hooded top.

The second man is described as 6ft tall, white and possibly dark curly hair.

He was also wearing black clothes, including a light shell jacket and black tracksuit bottoms and was wearing a hood.

The third man was white and wearing a black tracksuit with the hood up.

He had also had balaclava on.

The first two men were wearing face masks, covering from the nose to the chin.

Anyone with information about the incident or the bikes is asked to call Leeds District Crime Team on 101, quoting crime reference 13200398779.

***Police information said the incident happened in Micklefield Park but the force has since clarified that the incident was in LS25 and the article has now been amended***
